NFL Week 8 Picks

We are 58-44-1 against the spread and 65-38 straight up for the season.

Baltimore (-3) over Denver

The Ravens have lost three close games in a row to some very good teams.  This week they host the undefeated Broncos and should have a well prepared game plan coming off a bye.  Ravens 20-14

Chicago (-13.5) over Cleveland

The Bears were run over by the Bengals last week but the hapless Browns come to town this week.  This should be an easy one and Forte should finally have a good game.  Bears 31 – 10

Houston (-3.5) over Buffalo

The Texans are on a roll and their offense will be too much for the Bills to slow down.  Texans 28-17

Minnesota (+3) over Green Bay

Favre has already  beaten his old team once and will probably do it again in Lambeau.  Vikings 28-14

San Francisco (+12.5) over Indianapolis

The Niners with their new QB and WR will open up the offense and will try to keep up with the Colts.  They’ll lose but should cover.  Colts 28-17

Miami (+3.5) over Jets

The Jets just lost to Miami in the closing moments just a few weeks ago.  They meet in NY(NJ) this time which will be the difference in another close divisional game.  Jets 24-21

Dallas (-9.5) over Seattle

The Cowboys will put the heat on Hasselbeck and he’ll struggle once again to stay upright.  Cowboys 35-17

San Diego (-16.5) over Oakland

It was a close game the first time but the Raiders haven’t been covering much.  Chargers 30-10

Tennessee (-3) over Jacksonville

The Jags crushed the Titans the first time but Young is getting this start.  Tennessee is coming off a bye and will do better this time around.  Titans 28-21

Carolina (+10) over Arizona

The strength of the Panthers goes up against an equally strong run defense that is ranked at the top.  The Cards will take this but expect Carolina to keep it respectable.  Arizona 24-17

New York Giants (Pick) over Philadelphia

Look for the Giants to right the ship after two losses.  Expect a few big plays and a close game that goes to the wire.  Giants 27-24

Atlanta (+10) over New Orleans

The Falcons will regroup and establish Turner to limit the damage from Drew Brees.  In the end, Brees only needs a possession each quarter to score 28.  Saints 28-20

Detroit (-4) over St. Louis

Two bad teams but one has to win.  I’ll take the home bad team.  Lions 24-17
